Anthropologie
anthropologie.com

One day, when I become a really rich teacher, I will have a house that looks like that of Anthro's stores. I will most likely be single so I needn't worry about the overwhelming feminine touches. Oh Anthropology. You bring sunshine to my life.

Anxiety

"Anxiety is love's greatest killer. It makes other feel as you might when a drowning man holds on to you. You want to save him, but you know he will strangle you with his panic." -Anais Nin

A Student's Prayer

I am Catholic. I also go to college. I could definitely use a student's prayer.

(St. Thomas Aquinas)

Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator.
true source of light and fountain of wisdom!
Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intelligence,
dissipate the darkness which covers me,
that of sin and of ignorance.
Grant me a penetrating mind to understand,
a retentive memory,
method and ease in learning,
the lucidity to comprehend
and abundant grace in expressing myself.
Guide the beginning of my work,
direct its progress,
and bring it to successful completion.
This I ask through Jesus Christ,
true God and true Man
living and reigning with You
and the Father, forever and ever.
Amen.

Just Some Notes

1. sit in the morning. (stretch and breathe)
2. brush your teeth. (focusing only on brushing, then start to do each thing with such focus)
3. eat mindfully. (pay attention to only food when eating)
4. wash your bowl. (do dishes immediately)
5. drink tea. (make your own daily tea ceremony)
6. walk slowly. (be observant, take in the world)
7. read in silence. (quiet time)
8. look at someone gratefully. (look at the person)
9. work with focus. (only one thing at a time)

----these are some cositas that I found somewhere on stumbleupon that I thought were good tips to simplifying my daily life.

El Futuro

I've seen so many of  my high school class-mates lately. They are married, studying abroad, involved in something significant. They have something that they are living for. I don't know what I am living for. I really do not. I wake up everyday to the same routine, class, overeat, class, overeat, class, overeat, gym, work, homework, sleep, wake up repeat. I want something to live for other than food. I just don't know what that is yet. I want to wake up happy because there is something I feel like I am living for. I am living to get to heaven yes, but heaven will come with me being a good person and trying. Heaven is something to live for, absolutely. Seeing God's face will be the most incredible thing. But for the time being, I need a cause, a way to help the Earth. I also need a way to be motivated. I am not motivated to care which is most likely the problem more than anything. I want to feel excited. I want to feel in control, because right now I just feel like a waste of space and time on this earth. I am not working for any specific reason, I am not going to school for a specific reason (I mean I have a major and a career plan, but I am just not feeling it). I am not sure that I accomplishged anything in this post, but maybe getting these feelings out there is a start.

Lust-worthy Blogs

There are some blogs that are just entirely lust-worthy. Here are a few of my favs:

http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/ <- A Beautiful Mess. The author of this blog, Elsie Larson owns a vintage shop in Springfield, Missouri called Red Velvet. She is all about the vintage wear, DIY, and anything cute, quirky and unique. Her blog is definitely my favorite read.

http://foodcomablog.com/ <- Food Coma. This blog is written by Emma, a friend of of Elsie Larson and also, as far as I can tell, a co-author for A Beautiful Mess. Her blog concerns topics such as FOOD (of course), Arts & Crafts, and other odds-and-ends. This blog brings a lot of happiness to my life.

http://blogilates.com/ <- Blogilates. Need a workout at home? Don't have time to hit the gym? I realize I sound like a salesperson but this is seriously the blog to hit up for that. Cassey Ho's dynamic blog has videos for different "pop pilates" workout videos, TONS of recipes, music lists, a fashion section featuring "fitness fashion", random things under the printables section such as DIYs, and Cassey's Corner which lets you in on Cassey's life a little more. This blog is up-beat and fun to read, listen, and exercise to!

http://talknerdy2me.org/ <- Talk Nerdy 2 Me. This blog is a must for college students. It covers pretty much every topic that a typical college student would have to deal with. Talk Nerdy 2 Me is written by my fellow members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Topics range far and wide. Things covered are financial advice, dorm drama fixes, relationship advice, personal health advice, pop culture topics, music topics, fashion, sports, electronics, environmental awareness, business topics and much, much more! This blog is definitely a great read. When I read it I don't feel like I am wasting my study break, because this blog usually leads me to learn something new and exciting.

http://thecollegecrush.com/ <- The College Crush. This blog is just the cutest. It was started by Kira, a "spunky dating coach" as the blog words her. This blog is all about the throws of love. Relationships, sex, bffs, breakups, single-life, and much more. It's definitely one of those blogs that dishes out the advice that you need to hear whether you like it or not. But in a very sweet way of course. This blog was my obsession for about 3 months where I would read it daily and had read almost all of the blogs written. Get on it, you have a lot of catching up to do!

So here are just a few of my most-favorite blogs written by some pretty awesome authors. Have a good one!

With Love,

Barbara Faye
